Duffy Set For Final Game
On loan Hull City striker Darryl Duffy looks almost certain to play his last ever game for Hartlepool United at Mansfield Town's Field Mill ground this afternoon, however Pools other loan ranger Andy Monkhouse could be confirmed as a permanent signing before Saturday's game at Shrewsbury Town

Speaking to the Northern Echo Hartlepool United gaffer Danny Wilson commented:

'Let's hope we can do something with Andy (Monkhouse), but I'm not too hopeful with Duffy. If he keeps scoring like this, Hull will want him back.

'There's a good chance with Andy coming here permanently, but again let's wait and see. After Mansfield we have a clear week to work on getting players in.

'With the form we are in, it makes it a bit easier to attract players. Lower table or mid-table and it's not as attractive as a team going for promotion.

'Our run will attract attention nationwide and that can only help us.'

If Duffy does return to the KC Stadium Danny Wilson is sure to explore other striking options. So far there has been no word on the progress of injured strikers Joel Porter and Michael Proctor and it is believed there is money to spend to make sure Pools maintain their promotion push.

Mansfield boss Billy Dearden may field the same XI that started the abandoned match against Accrington on Saturday when his side face in-form Hartlepool.
Matty Hamshaw remains likely to miss out after suffering a hamstring injury on Boxing Day against Darlington.

Jon Daly should be back in the Pool side after suspension as they look to extend their run of eight league wins.

But Michael Nelson (knee) is again doughtful, while Michael Proctor and Joel Porter are still sidelined.
