CORK SET FOR STAGS
By John Percy
ROCK-BOTTOM Mansfield want to give the manager's job to Alan Cork.

The League Two strugglers are set to offer Cork - No.2 to Micky Adams at Coventry - the chance to haul them away from the foot of the League.

The Stags are in the hunt for a manager after Carlton Palmer quit last month after a defeat to Rochdale.

Former Nottingham Forest boss Paul Hart and Ian Atkins are among the names to apply for the job. Peter Shirtliff has taken caretaker charge and stands a chance of staying on if Cork decides to take the job.
