David Hodgson has revealed that Darlington midfielder Stephen Thomas is available to other clubs for loan. The former Wrexham regular has failed to regain his midfield position after picking up a few injuries last season.

Hodgy told the Northern Echo "I have to respect that Stephen needs to be playing regular first-team football and if the opportunity comes along to do that we will not stand in his way."

"He had a terrible time with injuries last season, but now that he's fit he feels that it's important to be playing. We've made his availability known and I don't think a spell out on loan will do him any harm at all."

It has also been revealed that Clyde Wijnhard turned down a loan move to Mansfield Town on Monday. Carlton Palmer eventually signed Adrian Littlejohn on a 3 month deal, but I doubt even the offer of a loan move will not have gone down too well with the Dutchman.

Wijnhard was dropped from the team after the Hartlepool United cup game after Hodgy stated that he was giving the ball away to easily.
