CARDIFF FRIENDLY CANCELLED

mansfieldtown.net reports that the pre-season friendly against Cardiff City originally scheduled for Saturday 24th July has been cancelled.
All other fixtures are going ahead as arranged: Thursday 8th July 7.45pm - St Blazey - Away Saturday 17th July 3.00pm - Stoke City - Home Wednesday 21 July 7.45pm - Leeds United - Home Tuesday 27th July 7.30pm - Wolves - Home Saturday 31st July 3.00pm Bath City - Away ----------- Notts police cause Mansfield cancellation Cardiff City Online, 6 July 2004 Mansfield had organised 4 home friendlies against Stoke, Leeds, Wolves and Cardiff all in a 10 day period but it appears the police were concerned at their ability to cover all four games in such a short space of time. Mansfield have now called off the game against Cardiff leaving both teams without a fixture. I'm not sure what they were expecting at Field Mill but I would'nt have thought more than a couple of hundred Cardiff fans would have travelled? |
