Stuart Watkiss is tipping Cheltenham Town to win the Third Division play-off final against Rushden & Diamonds in Cardiff tomorrow.
And the Stags boss admits he is delighted his side aren't involved in the end-of-season shoot-out after pipping Cheltenham for automatic promotion on the final day of the season.
He said: "I am sure it will be a good final and I fancy Cheltenham to just do it. I am just so pleased we are not involved.
"Look at Rochdale who won't be there after such a good season. And it must have been agony for Hartlepool to go out on penalties.
"I know the play-offs are great entertainment but they can be cruel. Maybe if two sides are still locked together after extra-time, then the side that finished higher in the division should go on instead of having to face penalties.
"Tomorrow's game is a great testament to two clubs who were in the Conference not so long ago.
"They have both come into the league and been able to kick on and all credit to them."
