Darlington have knocked back enquiries from Mansfield Town for two of their most experienced players.

The Stags, chasing promotion from the Third Division, wanted top scorer Barry Conlon and midfielder Ian Clark.

"It didn't get as far as them making a bid, but the answer would have been 'no' anyway," said Darlington manager David Hodgson.

"I don't expect any incomings or outgoings today, even though it is transfer deadline day."
