Stags Youth 4 Rotherham Youth 1
Report by John Street

Stags Youth Team hammered the Millermen out of sight at Clipstone on Saturday morning.

A cold morning but an excellent surface saw a strong performance from the home side in a game where the assists were of as much a mention as the goals scored themselves.

Stags started well and Parks won a header inside the box which fell at the feet of Hurst to drill home for a 1 - 0 lead. The home side went further ahead when Lloyd played a clever ball through for Parks to take the Stags into a 2 - 0 lead. Just before the break the Stags defence were all awol, as the Millers ran straight through the middle to leave the game still in the balance 2 - 1 at the break.

The Stags continued were they left off after the half-time cuppa, and Andy
Jones assisted in the third Stags goal by not giving up on a ball chasing it to the bye-line and crossing for Parks to score with a tap in. The fourth came after good link up play between Lloyd and Mitchell, when Mitchell
pulled back the ball from the bye-line Lloyd was on hand to smash the ball
into the roof of the net to complete the Stags Youth Teams emphatic victory, and a solid performance all through the team.
