Preview: Southend v Mansfield

Southend boss Steve Wignall is boosted by the return of James Stuart, who could make his Blues debut against Mansfield.

The defender was sent off for Bury at the end of last season but has completed his suspension.

Wignall can also call upon new boy Leon Constantine, who has signed a one-month deal with the Roots Hall club but striker Tes Bramble is doubtful with an ankle injury sustained playing for the reserves in midweek.

Mansfield player-manager Keith Curle has received a double boost ahead of the trip to the Essex coast.

Defender Tony Vaughan has returned to training after suffering an ankle injury and is expected to be named in the Stags squad despite continuing to suffer some discomfort.

Colin Larkin, whose long-term hamstring problems have been traced to the sciatic nerve, is also an outside bet to play some part at Roots Hall.
