The final game of a disappointing season is about to get underway on a beautiful sunny day with lots of Stags fans in fancy dress outfits.
Bury get the game underway and gain the first corner of the match after 3 minutes which is collected by Muggleton. Stags breakaway, Arnold is bearing down on goal, but a Bury defender gets in a tackle as he is about to shoot. Bury are keeping up the early pressure and are awarded another corner which Muggleton clears for another corner, this is cleared by the Stags defence only as far as a Bury player who shoots over the bar.

On 10 minutes Boulding is put through on goal but shoots well wide. The Stags are now getting more into the game and Kitchen puts a good through-ball to Arnold but it's cleared by a Bury defender for a throw-in. Kitchen takes the throw-in but Lloyd loses possession to Bury player who plays the ball forward to Hurst who shoots over the bar.

The Stags are dominating the play and Boulding puts in a good run and shoots for goal which is kept out by the Bury goalkeeper. Brown follows up but his shot is blocked and goes for a corner, which comes to nothing.

Arnold puts in an excellent run down the left and is fouled on the edge of the box. He takes the free kick himself and Baptiste gets on the end of it to send a header past the Bury goalkeeper and the Stags are 1 up after 24 minutes. On 28mins, Stags concede a corner which is cleared by Arnold to the edge of the box and a Bury player shoots wildly over the bar.

The Stags are having most of the play and after 30 mins a ball is played to Boulding who shoots but his effort is saved by the goalkeeper. Brown then puts Arnold in on goal but shoots wide. On 35 mins Dawson surges into the box and appears to be barged off the ball by a Bury defender, no penalty is given. On 38, Lloyd concedes an unnecessary corner which is cleared to a Bury striker who shoots over.

Boulding gets away down the left when the Bury no 6 crudely hacks him down and is rightly booked by the referee. As the first half comes to an end Hjelde concedes a free kick on the edge of the box, which comes to nothing. The referee blow his whistle to bring an end to a first half which was dominated by the Stags.

Half time 0-1

The 2nd half gets underway with Conlon heading onto Brown who shoots over the bar. On 48, the Stags concede a corner which is not cleared and in the scramble in the 6 yard box the ball is put over the line by Young for a Bury equalizer.

On 53, a cross is headed on by Conlon but is cleared by a defender to the goalkeeper. On 57, Muggleton makes a good save from a Bury striker diving to his left. Bury are now seeing a lot more of the ball and on 66 ex-Spireite and County striker Hurst breaks through only to have his shot well saved by Muggleton.

Stags bring on Sleath for Dawson on 72 mins, with 17 year old McGhee and Trimmer replacing Brown and Boulding shortly after. McGhee puts in an excellent run with the Bury defender conceding a corner. The last chance of the game is on 85 mins when a Bury striker shoots over the bar.

The Stags dominated the first half with Bury edging the second so the game ends 1-1 which is probably a fair result.

Man of the Match: Nathan Arnold - for an excellent 1st half, closely followed by an excellent performance from Baptiste, who may well have played his last game for the Stags.
